Sean Sexton – CrossFit Stapleton – Bio

Sean Sexton

Sean Sexton recently retired (February 2011) after 20 years in Naval Special Warfare. During his career in the SEAL Team’s, fitness was always a top priority. Sean was fortunate to operate and succeed at the “highest levels” possible and endure the most difficult of selections.

Life in the Teams did take a physical toll and the realization that training harder (1-2 dimensionally) was not always smarter; dawned on him about 7 years ago.

“I began to ‘break down’ physically, and a series of serious knee operations left my physical future in doubt.  I first got a taste of Crossfit in 2003 and knew Coach Glassman was onto something. I actually regained mobility and strength as well as a much better appreciation for the multi-varied skills associated with fitness”.

Sean cut his teeth coaching at DeSoto Crossfit in Memphis for 2 years until he relocated to Denver. Sean has trained Jiu-Jitsu for 5+ years, holds a Bachelors in Health Sciences, and is Crossfit Level 1/Crossfit Olympic Lift certified. Sean is currently enrolled in OPT CCP Level 1.
