FREE BREKKIE RECIPE!!!!

Quinoa & Vanilla-Pumpkin Breakfast Porridge

Ingredients:

For the Porridge –

• 3/4C quinoa

• 2 cups almond milk (or your favorite nut milk)

• 1/2C water
• 5T chia seeds
• 1T almond butter

• 1T honey
• 1t salt
• 1 vanilla bean
• 1t cinnamon
• 3 green cardamom pods
• 1/2 tsp ground turmeric

To mix in/garnish –
• 1/2 can pumpkin
• a handful of currants (or raisins)
• 1/2C coconut flakes
• 1C berries (your choice – whatever looks yummy!)

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients for the porridge to a pot and place on medium heat, bring to a boil and then turn down the heat to low.
  2. Cover, simmer until cooked, stirring every now and then and making sure it doesn’t stick to the bottom – about 20 minutes.
  3. Once quinoa is cooked and mixture resembles the thickness of oatmeal, remove the vanilla bean and then stir in pumpkin, currants and coconut flakes.
  4. Serve with a splash of cold almond milk and a few berries!
  5. Enjoy.

CROSSFIT CLASSES:

Performance-

A. Every two minutes, for 20 minutes (10 sets):
Hang Snatch + Snatch + 2 Overhead Squats

Build over the course of the 10 sets to today’s heavy.

 

B. Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 8 minutes of:
5 Power Snatches (135/95 lbs)
10 Burpee Box Jump-Overs (24″/20″)

Hang Power Snatch x2 + 2 Overhead Squats

 

B. Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 8 minutes of:
5 Hang Power Snatches
5 Burpees

5 Box Jumps
