As most of you already know.. Lisa P is moving down south this week and will be leaving CFS. She has been a huge part of our CFS family and we will miss her dearly. Lisa’s improvement over her last two years with us has been incredible and we know that she will be successful at the new gym she will be joining. Her amazing attitude and incredible personality will be greatly missed in the 5am class.
We would like to invite everyone to come have one final WOD with Lisa this Monday at 5am.
I know its early but Lisa is worth it! Nicolle will have coffee for us after that class is over.
We love you Lisa! Good Luck! Please visit often, our doors will always be open for you!

Client Services Manager, for a financial services company
When did you first start CrossFitting? –
I tried a CrossFit class in 2008, when I was about 30 pounds heavier and had just gotten back into working out. It kicked my ass, I couldn’t even talk at work that day I was so tired.
When did you first start training at CFS?-
I know the exact date, 10.15.2011.
Favorite WOD –
I don’t have one, I love (sometimes with hate) all of them.
Least Favorite WOD –
Anything with pull ups or double unders, because I STILL CANT DO THEM!!!
Tell us about your sports & fitness background. –
My parents are very active, so exercising in some form has always been a part of my life. My childhood was filled with ski trips, hiking and watching my parents windsurf – we only went on vacation to places where we could ski, hike, bike or windsurf – seriously! I worked on partying from 1999 to 2007 – true story – and started working out and getting my life back together again in 2007. Around the same time I also started Mountain Biking, and last year started racing up in Winter Park. Before CrossFit, I was a bootcamp, group fitness class girl at a classy huge globo gym.
I love CrossFit because it’s the first time I’ve felt like an athlete and it helps me to be ready for the things I really love – ripping the bumps at Mary Jane and climbing gnarly stuff on my mountain bike.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?-
We’ll leave the first WOD out. Reno kept telling me about how much he loved CFS, so I finally came with him on a Saturday morning, we did 4 rounds of 15 Wall Balls, something, and a 400 meter run. I felt great since I was in pretty good shape, and I loved how different it was from my the classes I’d been doing at my gym, I joined on Monday.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF? (before / after) –
I’ve gotten so much stronger, I love looking back at my progress in my Olympic Lifts, PR’s are the best thing ever. I’m so glad I started tracking when I started. I started eating paleo, pretty strictly about a week into CFS and I love the way it’s changed my body and the way I feel.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?-
I never knew I would find a family at a gym, but that’s exactly what I have at CFS.
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFS moments. –
I love when I PR and when I see other people PR. To all the new people, start tracking your lifts, so you can celebrate your improvements.
My favorite moment ever was very recently at the fossil games when Greg Sand, our awesome coach, PR’d on his Power Clean at 295 lbs. Our whole crew was cheering so loud and the energy at that moment he made it was AMAZING. Actually this whole competition was pretty cool, if a CFS team was on deck, the whole team was there cheering them on. Once again, it’s a family, not just a gym.
Any advice for people just getting started? –
I said it once or twice and I’ll say it again-Start tracking your progress, compete with yourself (and sometimes with the person who’s just a little better than you) and have fun.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?-
Hanging out with my other half of 13 years, Greg, spending time with the people I love, mountain biking, skiing, gangsta rap, dancing at shows (when I get the chance) and cooking.
