HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHEY PROTEIN LABELS


A: Not important, fat bound to protein is good
B: Not important, eating food containing cholesterol does not raise cholesterol. Eating food high in carbohydrates and sugar increases cholesterol biosynthesis
C: Micronutrients
D: Important, most whey is from grain fed sources and not biologically active (denatured and thus less bioavailable)
E: Add together. SFH has no carb or sugar added, except small amounts from natural chocolate and vanilla flavorings.
There should be no added carbs or sugar on the label.
F: Fructose desensitizes the insulin signal; sucrulose increases insulin release, soy ingredients are GMO and enhance the release of inflammation factors, emulsifiers are needed because isolates are hard to dissolve in water. Isolates and hydrolyzed whey are denatured protein lacking natural micronutrients. Hydrolyzed proteins are believed to spike insulin
